Led by Head Coach Maureen Hirt, Denison women’s basketball has surged to new heights, recently winning the NCAA National Title for the first time in program history. The Big Red also captured the 2025-26 NCAC Regular Season Championship and finished the season 30-2, the most wins in any Denison women’s basketball season. This transformation is rooted in a tight-knit culture that emphasizes resilience and playing for one another, a spirit that has made the Big Red one of the most exciting teams in the country. By combining an elite defense with a high-powered offense, the program has turned Denison into a premier destination for top-tier DIII basketball.

The women’s basketball team is focusing its fundraising efforts on a team trip to Puerto Rico in December of 2026. The Big Red will play two games and will look to immerse the team in a different culture.
