About

Thank you for visiting the men’s tennis giving page. Our program aims to provide our athletes with a first-class academic and athletic experience.

Under the leadership of Head Coach David Schilling ’89, the men’s tennis program has reached unprecedented heights, including the program’s first-ever NCAA National Championship in 2025. Schilling has led the team to multiple conference titles and record-breaking winning streaks that have firmly established Denison as a top-ranked power in Division III. This success is built on a culture of relentless player development and a "team-first" mentality that has produced numerous All-Americans and academic honors.

Our goal is simple and ambitious: Build the most complete Div. III men’s tennis program in the country — on the court, in preparation, and in vision.

On this Day of Giving, your support directly fuels three key initiatives that are separating us from the pack:

  1. Advanced data analytics We are currently the only Division III men’s tennis program fully integrating team-wide data analytics into training, match preparation, and player development. This isn’t guesswork — it’s objective performance tracking, second-serve battle analysis, lineup optimization, and match trend modeling.
  2. National-level scheduling & travel The new computer ranking system rewards teams that compete — and win — against the best in the country. That means intentional national scheduling, head-to-head opportunities versus Top 10 and Top 20 programs, and travel that puts our student-athletes in position to earn championship-level resumes. Competing at the top requires going where the best are.
  3. Expanded recruiting travel If we want to stay elite, we have to recruit elite. That means being visible at major junior events, building relationships nationally and internationally, and identifying the right fit for Denison early in the process. Recruiting at this level is proactive, not reactive.

Your investment helps us lead rather than follow. It allows us to embrace innovation while honoring the competitive standard that has always defined Denison Tennis.

Let’s keep pushing forward.
